Hello any one out there. I am writing this Blog to update anyone reading this on how Walter is doing being back in Canada.
It was a long and flight on October 16. The flight left Warsaw at 6:00 AM so we were ready for an early start.
After a walk to Old Town and a nice Pierogownia lunch were were back in our place and getting packed for the return.
Walter took advantage of the nice shower, he had a great one hour shower," no running out of hot water".
We were up early, 3:30 and we had a ride at 3:45, took us to the airport in a Maserati!
After check in we went to gate, there was not much to do but we managed a MacDonalds coffee.
Flight to Amsterdam on time and we mosied to our gate after a short break at the Lounge.
We left Amsterdam around 11 AM on Saturday October 16. We were in the same seats as on the way over, 1A and !B. Dad turned on the flight map and so back to the future.
it turns our three Nuns who boarded the plane in Warsaw were bound for Edmonton. One of them was the head of the order going to visit the Grey Nuns in Edmonton.
It was a decent flight, no sleeping. After all the Customs and Immigration and Covid protocols we made it out loaded with out bags. There was a welcoming committee of the Sisters who came to greet the Head, they knew Walter was on the plane since Walter J was waiting for us and told them about Walter being on this flight.
They greeted him warmly and very happily.
So back home by afternoon. A slow unpack we went uneventful to Sunday but Walter had trouble sleeping.
Sunday a little digital mass, some hockey and Walter went to bed at 8.
He was up at 1 AM coughing, he had a little tickle in Poland. We were Covid negative so it was a bit of congestion.
Up at 6 gave Walter a diuretic and he lay until Monday at 9. He was up at that point, said he felt terrible and so called and ambulance.
They responded quickly and took Walter to U of A hospital. He was in Emergency till a bed opened up on 5th floor.
He is still there and spent Oct 24 his birthday there. They want to make sure they have it right before they release him. He is having heart issues.
About his trip. No regret. Walter said the trip was 100% was perfect. he went and did what he came to do and he saw all the people we set out to see.
So Walter wants to thank everyone who followed his "sentimental" journey and to wish them all the best!
We hope in a few days Walter can be at home!!!
