After a nice day in Gdansk with Tomek, Ola and Co. we wake up to a beautiful Saturday
on the Coast.
Gdansk is a Maritime City with a rich City History that dates back to the Hanseatic League.
Now it is the important Baltic Port for Poland and along with Sopot and Gdynia forms what is called the Tri cities.
Tomek and Walter plan a morning tour of Gdansk and go to places famous in Poland, both as places of coastal importance and places where the 2nd World War was started in 1939. Walter and Tomek visit both the HEL peninsula and Westerplatte.
Westerplatte where the German Battleship Schleswig-Holstein launched the Second World War by launching a bombardment at around 4:40 AM September 1, 1939. The first shells fired in the soon to be called World War 11.
Today is a popular attraction and in in 2026 there are plans to open a Museum on the site.
